WHAT BASEBALL PLAYER OVERCAME NON-HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA TWICE? ANDRES GALARRAGA.

Andres Galarraga survived cancer twice to come back and play in the majors. It’s an amazing accomplishment for the player they called The Big Cat. Andres Galarraga has retired from the game concluding a career that spanned 19 years. In that time he hit 399 homeruns and played for many times including the Montreal Expos, St. Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies, Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels and the New York Mets.

Here is what Andres Galarraga said:

This is a sad day for me, but I honestly felt it was the right time to step away. I just wasn’t playing up to the expectations that I have set for myself throughout my entire career, and I wanted to walk away on my own terms.
