New out of the owner’s meetings is that Tampa, Florida has been selected to host the 2009 Super Bowl. My only question is why?
The NFL likes the warmth of cities such as Tampa, but does it make much sense?
The Super Bowl is an international event. If you’re going to ignore the cities that your teams play in such as Cleveland, St. Louis or Cincinnati, why not make it truly global. Hold it in an international city.
Imagine the money that is to be made.
The NFL claims they like the amenities a city provides. Fine. Paris, London and Toronto are great sites. Want warmth? How about Manila or Singapore?
