JOE PATERNO THINKS 2005 WILL BE A GOOD YEAR … WAKE HIM UP

Joe Paterno is a legendary college football coach with a legendary problem. Joe Paterno can’t see reality if it came up and scared him.

Joe Paterno said he felt energized about improving his team in 2005. The 2004 team finished 4-7 overall and 2-6 in the Big Ten. It’s hard to get worse for a big time program.

On last year’s team, Joe Paterno said:

“We were a very, very bland football team.”

Gotcha there Papa Joe.

So how close is he to retirement and letting some fresh blood breathe new life into the program?

“Like Tennessee Williams said, he said he knew no man was immortal, ‘but somehow I thought I was the exception.'”
