You don’t see many non-match, non-Mike Tyson articles about boxing that are interesting, but this one is up there. The Jesuit magazine Christian Civilization has come out against boxing.
Christian Civilization calls it:
- Immoral
- Attempted murder.
- Debilitating.
This isn’t an official catholic stance, but the magazine is produced by Jesuits who reflect Vatican thinking.
Is professional boxing really that bad? The fighters accept the risks for a chance to win money. The problem comes into play when greedy promotes are involved. How many great fighters have been swindled by the swine of promotion?
