Could this be more embarrassing? Out of all the men to start the French Open there are 32 men left. No Americans. No one from an English speaking country. Amazing.
For the second year in a row, no American man made it past the second round of the French Open.
People blame the clay at the French Open, but come on. You would think that one or two of the Americans would get lucky or have enough skill to get through. Even the most overrated American male tennis player ever, Andy Roddick, couldn’t ignore it:
“Right now it stings. We all have a lot of pride. It’s gotten taken down quite a lot in the last couple years here.”
No way. Really? The French Open has become radioactive to American men.
