- 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine
- 2 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup broken pecans
- 2 eggs
Melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add all ingredients except eggs, and mix until blended. Add eggs and beat well. Pour into a greased pan (9×9 inches).
Bake in a moderate oven (350F) 30 minutes. Do not burn. Cool. Cut into 9 squares. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
