What is Rectocele – Definition and Treatment

Very often, in addition to cystocele, rectocele may be present. This is an anatomically similar condition, but in this case it is the rectum that bulges into the lower wall of the vagina.

A rectocele may produce relatively few symptoms except when quite large, and is generally disregarded. However. it is possible surgically to repair a rectocele at the same time that the cystocele is repaired.
