What is Psychosis in Children

This indicates a state of clinical “insanity” which may occur in a child who has normal capacity but has been so traumatized, so badly treated and handled in childhood, that he becomes quite abnormal. Some of these children are called schizophrenic.

Psychoses in children also refer to the behavior of children who have brain disturbances and are damaged. Their behavior is fragmented, irrational, hyperactive, and very disordered-but on the basis of an organic condition. Some children who are mentally defective or retarded may also show behavior disturbances which are classified as psychotic.
