Mesolithic and Neolithic cultures existed in Mongolia, but archaeologically we know little about them and practically nothing about Chinese Turkestan and Tibet before the opening centuries of the Christian Era.
Such information as we have about this area from Chinese records does not run much before the beginning of Han times (3d cent. B.C.).
