- 1 can (1 lb, 12 ozs) peach halves
- 1 stick (3 ins) cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 teaspoon whole allspice
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 package (3 ozs) cream cheese
- Chopped walnuts
Drain syrup from peaches into a saucepan. Add cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and vinegar to the syrup. Simmer 5 minutes. Pour over peaches and place in refrigerator. Let stand at least 6 hours.
Drain peaches and place, cut side up, on serving dish.
Form cream cheese into as many balls as there are peach halves (6 to 8). Roll in chopped nuts and place one in each peach hollow. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
