- 3 cups seasoned mashed potatoes
- 2 cups ground cooked meat
- 2 1/4 cups leftover gravy
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- pinch of pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- pinch of paprika
Spread a layer of mashed potatoes in bottom of deep, greased pie plate, using /2 the potato. Add 1/4 cup gravy to the ground meat and season with the salt and pepper. Spread meat mixture on layer of potato in baking dish, then add remaining potato in a smooth top layer. Brush top with melted butter and sprinkle paprika over. Bake in 375 oven until browned, about 20 minutes. Serve with the remaining 2 cups gravy, heated very hot, to spoon over each serving. Serves 6.
Any kind of cooked meat or chicken may be used for this dish. If you have no gravy left over to use, try one of the canned or packaged gravies available at any grocery store. If you have a small amount of gravy, try stretching it with a medium white sauce.
