- 1 square (1 oz) unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter or margarine
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
Place chocolate, butter, sugar, and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a rolling boil and boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; add vanilla and nuts. Beat by hand, or with electric beater, until spreading consistency. Spread on cake.
Yield: Enough frosting for 8×8- or 9x9inch cake or 24 cupcakes.
