Quick and delicious steak casserole recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak, cut into pieces
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour for dredging
  • 6 tbsp. shortening
  • 2 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 Large yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 can biscuits

Preparation

Quick and delicious steak casserole photoSeason steak with salt and pepper; dredge in flour. Brown on both sides in shortening. Place one-half of steak in casserole. Add a layer of potatoes and a layer of onion; season to taste. Repeat layers. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons flour over all. Cover with water.

Cooking

Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Increase heat to 375 degrees. Arrange biscuits on top of casserole and bake until biscuits are brown. Yield: 4 servings.
