How to decorate for an engagement party decorations

Since the engaged girl is the guest of honor, it is especially gracious to use her favorite colors and flowers on the table and elsewhere in the house. And, of course, the choice of guests is hers on this occasion.

Invitation

For the announcement luncheon, the hostess telephones or writes a note about two weeks before the party date, asking the special list of the engaged girl's friends to come to the luncheon. She does not mention the engagement since its announcement is to be the surprise of the party.

Monday

Dear Jackie:

I hope you can come to luncheon Friday, April 10th. I'm asking a few other friends of Jerry, to make ten around the table. So please do come, for I know Jerry would feel badly if you are not among our guests. One o'clock is the time.
